OUR STORY
The Shack is located on the banks of the Sol Duc River in beautiful Forks, Washington. If you are looking to get away and enjoy the remote, rustic wilderness of the Pacific Northwest then this is the place for you!
The Gaydeski's settled on this land in 1902 with family and new beginnings on the horizon. After their long trip on the Oregon Trail from Nebraska, they thought it would be the perfect place to raise children and live the life of their dreams. Decades later, our family continues to live that dream and we are thrilled to share it with people like you! We hope to preserve this land for years to come.
THE FINE PRINT
Expect all things at The Shack that you would experience camping. Spiders, mosquitos, moths...etc. Bats do come out at night. They should not bother you, but they will fly around at night just as a bird would during the day. We cannot prevent these critters from making an appearance given the environment that The Shack is in. We apologize in advance for any unwanted encounters you may have with such creatures. These are circumstances beyond our control.
The beds are wooden, single person bunk beds with mattress pads of varying thicknesses. Numerous guests have slept two smaller adults on the two bottom bunks. Please bring your own sleeping bags, pillows and blankets. The Shack is cozy. It is not full of extra space for hanging out. The purpose is to provide a shelter for sleep and spend your days outdoors.
